Service Restored After Power Outage (UPDATE)

More than 500 Ameren Illinois electric customers were without power for more than a half-hour Thursday morning.

The area of the outage included customers on the south, west and north sides of Effingham. Service was interrupted sometime after 10:30am and was partially restored at 11:20am with full restoration of service by 11:38am.

Ameren spokesperson Marcelline Love said the outage occurred while crews were performing routine maintenance.
