An increase was seen in the number of those who visited the Cross at the Crossroads in 2014.

Carol Gapsis of the Cross Foundation said 9,479 people stopped by the Cross and the Cross Welcome Center last year, up from the two previous years. 7,384 visitors were seen in 2013 and 8,436 in 2012. Those figures only reflect those who signed in at the Welcome Center; many people drop by throughout a day to view the Cross up close, reflect and pray, and listen to recorded messages based upon the Ten Commandments.

Gapsis thanked the many volunteers who staff the Welcome Center during open hours. Anyone who would like more information about serving as a volunteer is invited to phone 217-342-4100.

The Cross at the Crossroads will be hosting two events during the Easter season; a Good Friday service will be held on April 5 with the time yet to be determined, while an Easter Sunrise Service will take place at 6am on April 7.
