Jasper County State's Attorney Kevin Parker has been named an Associate Judge of the 4th Judicial Circuit.

Michael Tardy, Director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, announced Friday that the 4th Judicial Circuit judges voted to select Parker.

A 1977 graduate of Effingham High School, Parker received his undergraduate degree in 1981 from Miami of Ohio in Oxford, Ohio and his Juris Doctorate in 1984 from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Parker also served as Effingham County State's Attorney, and then was appointed Resident Circuit Judge in Jasper County but lost a battle for a full term to current Resident Circuit Judge Daniel Hartigan. He then was elected to multiple terms as Jasper County State's Attorney before Friday's announcement.
