Local Psychiatrist Addresses Noon Rotary

Psychiatrists are hard to come by in smaller cities, but Effingham has one.

Dr. Rhoda Gottfried is on staff at Heartland Human Services in Effingham. Heartland's executive director Jeff Bloemker, a Noon Rotarian, invited Gottfried to speak to Rotary.

In addition to her instruction as a psychiatrist, Gottfried is also a classically trained nutritionist and dietitian. She spoke on the affects of what we eat not only on our bodies but also on our emotions and our minds.

The Rotary weekly student guest was Abby Hagen, daughter of Tara and Kurt Hagen and a senior at Effingham High School.
