Crash w/Injuries on Interstate Near Farina

Two people were injured in a weekend crash on I-57, six miles north of Farina.

State police say the crash occurred at 4:30am Sunday when a semi driven by 47-year-old Timothy Martin of Dallas, Texas, ran off the roadway. The rig struck a guardrail and bridge support and ended up in a ditch.

Martin and his passenger, a 47-year-old woman from Mobile, Alabama, were both injured and were taken for treatment at an area hospital.

Martin was cited for improper lane usage.
