Bruce Rauner is officially the governor of Illinois.
He was sworn in during a ceremony in Springfield just after noon and he's sticking to his plan to bring Illinois out of a financial slump. He says the state's budget is busting at the seams and he's issuing an executive order today, ordering all state agencies to freeze non-essential spending.
When it comes to the culture of corruption in Illinois, he says that's over. He's planning to sign an executive order tomorrow that will improve ethics in the executive office.
