Flora Police are looking into a evening break-in and vandalism spree that took place at Flora High School on New Year's Day.

Flora Police Chief John Nicholson says that around 7:30pm, a patrolman discovered several trash cans and dumpsters on fire in front of Flora High School. Upon further investigation, it was determined that entry was also gained into the high school, however, the only damage was to a posterboard that was torn off of the wall. Nicholson says the investigation is ongoing.

There was only slight smoke and soot damage to the High School Building; FHS officials say the soot damage can be easily washed away.
