Kyloh, the dog of David Koester of Effingham, has been found.

Kyloh was located at Lithia Springs Campground at Lake Shelbyville, according to a Facebook post by Koester's girlfriend left with our Wayne Moran Tuesday afternoon. No word on how the dog ended up so far from home.

The 21-year-old Koester was running Kyloh in the river bottom west of the TREC Trail off Evergreen Avenue Friday when Koester was wounded by what authorities believe was a stray bullet fired by someone in the area who might not have even known they wounded someone.

Koester made his way back to his vehicle, which was parked near the trailhead for the TREC Trail, even after being wounded. He phone 911 in the meantime and an ambulance took him from the scene for treatment.

In the meantime, Kyloh stayed around the area while law enforcement officers began to reach the scene. He was even there when local media reached the scene, including our own Greg Sapp, but when people tried to catch him, he ran away. Koester's father, and even Koester himself after being treated and then released came to the scene but could not locate Kyloh, but word came Tuesday that he had been found.
