There will be two candidates for mayor in the Altamont City Council election next April.

Incumbent Larry Taylor and challenger Jason Rippetoe each filed for mayor ahead of Monday's deadline.

Four people filed for one of the four commissioner seats on the Council; incumbents Bill Jones, Jason Williams, and Richard Frailey along with challenger Todd Slingerland.

Longtime commissioner Gerald White, Jr. decided against seeking another term.
