The Teutopolis Board of Education Monday decided to schedule a special meeting to choose a successor to Marty Siemer as a member.

Siemer resigned from the Board after being elected a circuit judge. Six people applied to succeed Siemer on the Board. The special meeting was scheduled for 5:30pm on Monday, December 29.

The Board also handled personnel matters, accepting a retirement from Joleen Hoene as of the end of the 2017-18 school year, approving a resignation from Heather Pruemer as a four-hour teacher aide and approving Beth Einhorn to replace her, and approving Mitchell Martin as a volunteer boys basketball coach.

Teutopolis board members approved a tax levy for the coming year, with an increase of about 6.43% over what was extended in taxes last year, and discussed expenditures to purchase additional technology. Board members also purchased a used white activity bus from the North Clay School District.
