Six people have asked to be considered for the vacant seat on the Teutopolis Board of Education.

Wednesday was the deadline to submit an application. As of Monday, only two people had indicated interest in the seat, but four more people submitted letters prior to the deadline.

The school board will discuss filling the seat at their meeting next Monday. The Board has 45 days from the time of the resignation to choose a successor.

The vacancy on the Board was created by the resignation of Martin Siemer, who was elected Circuit Judge in November. Siemer was also serving as Board President, so Vice-President Gene Niemerg is taking over the duties as president.
