A former Effingham woman has been arrested in Coles County in connection with a stabbing incident in Charleston.

27-year-old Jennifer Day, the former Jennifer Georges of Effingham, was arrested shortly after 8:30am last Thursday in a parking lot. Officers found a man in a nearby apartment with stab wounds to his abdomen and neck and head. Police say there is no known current address for Day.

The stabbing victim was taken to Carle Hospital in Urbana for treatment; Day was taken to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County for treatment of minor wounds. She was then arrested on an aggravated battery count.
