Crash West of Effingham Monday

No injuries resulted from a crash west of Effingham along US 40 Monday afternoon.

The crash occurred at 3:45pm just west of Funkhouser Road. Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports that a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Shane Ramos of Altamont ran off the highway, struck a culvert and a ditch embankment along the south side of the road.

Ramos was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
