Heartland Human Services Holds Annual Meeting

The board of directors at Heartland Human Services, Effingham County’s behavioral health and counseling agency, recently held its annual meeting.
Ron Kinder was retired from the board as the sitting president after three years of service.

The Board seated two new members. Kaye Dent is a local attorney specializing in estate planning, Medicaid, and senior issues who also has worked as a state’s attorney and a public defender. Russ Howard managed the Effingham Social Security Office for several decades and is now retired.

The Heartland board also elected officers for 2015. The new slate of officers includes President Tim Spitz of Midland States Bank, Vice President Amy Ruckman of Altamont Unit 10 School District, and Secretary/Treasurer Lisa Norton of Effingham Unit 40 School District.
