Second Distribution of Effingham County Property Taxes

The Effingham County Treasurer's Office has made a second distribution of county property tax revenue.

County Treasurer Steve Dasenbrock said an amount of $17,439,765.98 was distributed to 86 taxing bodies. To date, 95.8% of the total tax extended has been distributed.

Certified letters for all delinquent taxes will be mailed Friday, December 5. At that time, a $10 certified letter will be added to the balance due.

The following step in the tax collection cycle will be the publication of all unpaid taxes. To avoid publication, property taxes must be paid by Friday, December 22.
