The man that was found guilty of delivery of a controlled substance that led to the death of an Effingham woman was sentenced to prison Monday.

Albert Church, 23 of Effingham, was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison by Judge Allan Lolie. Church was found guilty in September under an accountability theory. In Lolie's ruling, he said Church told Jessica James of Effingham that Jay Miller of Altamont could supply her with heroin and Church's action helped facilitate the crime. James bought heroin from Miller and died of an overdose on February 4.

Church was also sentenced to an additional two years in prison after he failed to complete a problem solving court from an aggravated assault case in 2013. Lolie said the sentences will run concurrently. With credit for time served, Church could be out by the end of 2015.

Miller was sentenced to 17 years in prison at the end of July for his part in the death of James, after being convicted of drug induced homicide.
