A new series of historical presentations begins tonight at the Effingham County Museum in the historic Court House on the first floor.  As in the past the meetings will be held at 7:00 P.M. to celebrate the story of Effingham County.

In the first program in the series, Norbert “Bud” Althoff, well known for his accomplishments in business and community development, as well as civic leader in projects such as co-founding the Family Life Pregnancy Center and The Cross at the Crossroads, will focus on the former Fedders plant in Effingham. Althoff rose through the ranks to become president of that local industry.

The public is encouraged to attend to learn more about local history. The series, which will continue the second Thursday of each month through March 12, 2015, is sponsored by the Effingham County Cultural Center and Museum Association, Inc., an organization devoted to the preservation of the fascinating history of the county.
