No one was seriously injured when a pickup truck struck a house in Effingham just before noon Tuesday.

Emergency crews were called to 608 West Jefferson at 11:45am after a truck driven by 31-year-old David Shuler of Effingham struck the back porch of the house, located directly west across Lincoln Street from Pizza Man. Restaurant owner Greg Addis, who recently purchased the house, said he was told the truck pulled out of his north parking lot and turned left onto Lincoln but then continued into the backyard of the house where it slammed into the porch. Authorities believe a possible medical issue caused the crash.

Shuler was checked for injuries at the scene by Effingham City-County Ambulance Service, but was not taken for treatment.

Effingham city police and fire departments also assisted at the scene.
