Four people from the area were arrested on drug crimes early Saturday.
Illinois State Police arrested 26-year-old Tyler Cripe and 35-year-old Amanda Elkins, both of Ramsey, 18-year-old Kelly Lange of Central City, and 20-year-old Trever Pyle of Mulberry Grove. Each of the four was arrested on counts of manufacture or delivery of controlled substances, possession of controlled substances, and criminal drug conspiracy. Cripe, Pyle and Lange were also arrested on counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, Lange on a count of possession of cannabis, Elkins on a count of obstructing identification, and Pyle on counts of following too closely and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Chief Assistant State's Attorney Scott Ealy said State Police made a vehicle stop of a vehicle the trooper said was traveling dangerously close to another vehicle. The driver of the suspect vehicle was acting suspiciously and that led to a search of the vehicle and checking of the records of those in the vehicle, leading to their arrests.
All four are in custody in Effingham County Jail. Judge Kimberly Koester Sunday set bond for the four; bond for Cripe and Elkins was set at $50,000, bond for Pyle was set at $25,000, and bond for Lange was set at $10,000.
