The name of the man found dead in Effingham Thursday has been released.

The Effingham County Coroner's Office Friday said the man has been identified as 39-year-old Michael Blair of Effingham.

911 dispatch received a call at 12:53pm Thursday regarding an unresponsive man on the south side of Effingham. Effingham City Police and EMS responded and when they reached the scene, they found Blair dead. The Effingham County Coroner's Office was called to the scene. Effingham County Coroner Duane Guffey and Chief Deputy Coroner Linda Mette pronounced Blair dead at 1:24pm.

An autopsy was performed Friday to determine the cause of Blair's death, but the coroner's office indicates autopsy results are inconclusive at this time. A press release indicates the cause of death will be released in six to eight weeks, once the results of toxicology tests and the final autopsy report are available.

The incident is being investigated by the Effingham City Police Department, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services, and the Effingham County Coroner's Office.
