Governor-elect Bruce Rauner has named a local man to serve as part of his transition committee.

Jim Schultz of Effingham, who is founder of Open Prairie and Managing Director of Open Prairie Ventures I and II, has been named a part of the team.

Lieutenant Governor-elect Evelyn Sanguinetti is chairing the transition committee, which features a bipartisan pool of talent. Former Southern Illinois University President and former Congressman Glenn Poshard, a former Democrat gubernatorial candidate, will serve on the committee, as will Bill Daley, Managing Partner and head of US Operations of Argentiere Capital LP, and a former White House Chief of Staff under Barack Obama. Some of the Chicago area pastors who broke with tradition to support Rauner are also on the committee, as is former Governor Jim Edgar.
