Clark County murder suspect Thomas Messina is seeking a reduction in his bond.

The 20-year-old Windsor man is charged with three counts of first degree murder in the January death of Gregory Scott Collins. Firefighters found Collins' body while fighting a fire at his house in Casey.

During a court hearing Monday, defense attorney William McGrath filed a motion for a reduction in Messina's bond, which is now set at $500,000. A hearing on the request was set for November 10.

In addition to the three murder counts, Messina also has been charged with counts of aggravated arson knowing people are present, residential arson, felon in possession of a weapon, and aggravated cruelty to animals.

The Court is waiting on results of an examination of Messina to determine whether pleas of guilty but mentally ill or not guilty by reason of insanity might be more appropriate.

Messina's trial is set for January 13.
