Midwest Veterans, history buffs and military enthusiasts will have the opportunity to pay tribute to those who served in the Vietnam War when The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall® visits Effingham Sept. 18- 21. The wall, which is a 3/5 scale of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D. C. and spans 300 feet when constructed, will be displayed at Mid America Motorworks’ corporate campus.

“We are honored to be hosting this tribute to the men and women who served in Vietnam. With one of my own brothers who served at Vietnam, it is a privilege to show him and our other Veterans how much their commitment and sacrifice means,” said Mike Yager, founder and Chief Cheerleader of Mid America Motorworks.

The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall is part of the Vietnam and All Veterans Brevard in Brevard County, Flo. The non-profit group created the monument as a reminder of the sacrifices made during the Vietnam War and to give people throughout the United States an opportunity to see the wall without making a trip to Washington.

Admission to the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall is $2/car. Buses and large groups will be admitted free of charge. The display will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18 through Saturday, Sept. 20 and 8 a.m. tonoon Sunday, Sept. 21.

That same weekend, Mid America Motorworks is hosting a one-of-a-kind celebration for Corvette Funfest 2014, themed Vets with Vettes. The weekend will include special attractions and presentations honoring members of the military, past and present. Registration is currently open for Corvette Funfest 2014.
