John and Sarah Niebrugge captured top honors at the 2014 CASABlanca Dancing With the Effingham Stars event Friday night.
A jam-packed Effingham Knights of Columbus Building cheered as the Niebrugges danced their way to the title. It's been a good year for John Niebrugge, as the CASA title follows the Altamont Lady Indians state softball championship this past spring. Niebrugge coaches the Lady Indians.
Congratulations to Luke and Cathy Hayes, coached by our own Courtney Koester, who captured Best Costume honors.
The proceeds from Friday's event go to support CASA of Effingham County. CASA is the acronym for Court Appointed Special Advocates, a group of trained volunteers who are assigned cases by the courts involving children who otherwise have no one to represent their interests when their futures are being decided by the courts.
