Company officials have confirmed that the Effingham Yellowbook office is closing.

The public relations office of Yellowbook's parent company, hibu, responded to our inquiry over the noon hour Friday from their office in Great Britain that they informed employees of the Effingham office Thursday of hibu's intention to close the Effingham office, supporting a consolidation of the company's telephone sales operation.

The closure will impact about 30 full time roles, principally in telephone sales and which will mostly be replaced at the company's main telephone sales department in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Some sales support and IT roles are also impacted by the closure, which will be effective from November 11; a few employees with HR, IT and premise sales roles will remain with the company and work remotely when the office closes.

Many of the colleagues in Effingham with telephone sales roles will have the opportunity to transfer to Cedar Rapids, if they wish.
