Groundbreaking for Workman Complex Set for September 19

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Richard E. Workman Sports and Wellness Complex has been scheduled for Friday, September 19.

The ceremony will begin at 4:30pm at the site for the complex at 1301 North Maple. Parking will be available along North Maple Street or at Kluthe Memorial Pool at 1200 North Maple.

In case of rain, the event will take place at the red pavilion located east of the baseball diamond at Evergreen Hollow Park.

The Effingham Park District has a goal of having the Complex completed and in operation about one year from the start of construction.

Cookies and refreshments will be provided.
