Effingham County 911 board members Tuesday discussed committee assignments.

Currently, there are three members on each committee, but member Johnathon Paholke has shown interest in serving on the equipment committee, where there are already three members. The Board agreed to consider whether to expand the number of members on a committee and vote next month on the matter.

Here's how the committees and their members are projected:

Equipment/PSAP--Mike Schutzbach, Darren Deters and Joe Holomy

Human Resources--Nick Althoff, Mike DePoister and Joe Holomy

Addressing--Nick Althoff, Johnathan Paholke and Jon Becker

Finance--Rebecca Merten, Mike Schutzbach and Mike DePoister

Public Education--Rebecca Merten, Johnathan Paholke and Ted Heath

Emergency Services--Jon Becker, Ted Heath and Darren Deters

The Board awarded property/casualty insurance coverage to Weis Insurance for a 2.24% increase over what was charged last year. This year, the County is insuring emergency generators received from state and federal agencies, and experiencing a 1% increase in property values.

911 System Administrator Jodi Moomaw reported that meetings are taking place in Springfield every other week on how 911 runs and how it is funded. Moomaw encouraged board members to contact anyone they might know involved in the meetings to make sure 911 doesn't come out a loser when it comes to funding.
