Cumberland school board members reviewed enrollment figures for the new year at their monthly meeting.

High school enrollment totaled around 285 students, middle school enrollment was at 304 students, and elementary school enrollment totaled 381 students, not including Pre-K and Project HELP students.

Middle school principal Stacy Keyser reported on a new administrators conference she attended. Keyser replaced Kevin Maynard at the middle school, as Maynard moved up to the high school principal's post since Todd Butler became unit superintendent. Todd Hall remains elementary school principal. Keyser also reported on the middle school theme for this year as "Raider Family".

Maynard updated the Board on the work done to complete the resurfaced track and the newly-installed football scoreboard. He expressed thanks to Wolke's Nursery for landscaping done around the scoreboard.

Butler reported on work to make Chromebooks and tablets ready for classrooms and to get a new website up and running, as well as getting a WIFI system completed.

In personnel moves, the Cumberland board hired Daniel Nelson as an elementary special education aide, hired Melissa Boldt as an elementary aide, hired Jake Edwards as a high school aide, and accepted resignations from Mitchell Martin as high school assistant boys basketball coach, MariellenTaylor as middle school head girls track coach, and Deana Carr from the Unit office. Also, the Board voted to post open coaching positions.
