A former Lake Land College employee has been placed on probation, including jail time, after pleading guilty to theft by deception.
56-year-old Tammy Boeser was arrested in May as the result of an investigation conducted by the Lake Land College Police Department with the assistance of the Coles County State's Attorney's Office. Boeser, who worked as an administrative assistant, was terminated by the college for "engaging in serious misconduct and violations of board policies and college procedures". In addition to the action against Boeser, the college instituted changes to its purchasing and credit card procedures.
In exchange for her guilty plea, Boeser was placed on 30 months' probation, including 180 days in Coles County Jail. She was fined and was ordered to complete 150 hours of community service work.
