Two Crashes w/Injuries Within 30 Minutes Monday

Effingham city police handled two crashes with injuries within 30 minutes Monday.
At 9:13am, a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Rachel Meinhart of Dieterich rear-ended a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Sarah Lilly of Charleston at Evergreen and Merchant. A passenger in Lilly's vehicle, 11-year-old Tyler Lilly of Effingham, was injured but refused treatment.
Meinhart was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.

At 9:27am, a vehicle driven by 53-year-old Aleah Moeller of Wheeler rear-ended a livestock trailer being pulled by a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Jacob Schumaker of Montrose at 2730 North 3rd Street.
Moeller was injured but refused treatment. Moeller was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
