Effingham resident Trina Rothrock is free on bond after being indicted for allegedly stealing money from Little Lambs Early Childhood Center.
An Effingham County grand jury indicted the 36-year-old Rothrock on counts of theft, use of an account number with intent to defraud, and forgery. The theft count alleges Rothrock stole between $10,000 and $100,000 from Little Lambs between February 15, 2012 and this past May 7. The use of an account number alleges Rothrock used a Little Lambs credit card to purchase items online between last December 13 and May 7. The forgery charge alleges Rothrock passed a check for more than $770 on the Little Lambs account on February 21.
Effingham County State's Attorney Bryan Kibler said Rothrock was working in a bookkeeping position at Little Lambs when the offenses are alleged to have occurred. Kibler said Rothrock also faces a misdemeanor count of theft of services for utilizing discounted day care services at Little Lambs for which she never paid.
Rothrock posted $2,000 bond and was released. She is due in court on August 18.
