More information available on a Tuesday afternoon pursuit from Sullivan to Effingham.

The pursuit began at 4:59pm in Sullivan. Sullivan Police Chief John Love said a Moultrie County sheriff's deputy was following a vehicle because the owner was being sought by Macon County authorities. The suspect vehicle drove into a residential area of Sullivan and then attempted to elude the patrol vehicle. Love said at one point the suspect vehicle swerved at the pursuit vehicles.

The suspect vehicle headed south on Illinois Route 32 out of Sullivan and through Windsor, Strasburg and Stewardson and then encountered waiting deputies from the Effingham County Sheriff's Department. The suspect vehicle stopped at that point and the driver was taken into custody shortly before 6pm.

Love said he believes the suspect, whose name is still not available, was taken back to Macon County. We contacted the Macon County Jail, but they had no information on the incident.

No one was injured in the incident, nor were there any reports of property damage.
