The Effingham Park District and Get Fit Family Fitness announced today the execution of a letter of intent for the Park District to acquire Get Fit Family Fitness, the company's equipment and its membership contracts. The existing Get Fit Family Fitness organization will become part of the new Richard E. Workman Sports and Wellness Complex upon its completion in the fall of 2015.
The acquisition is designed to enhance the fitness center portion of the Workman Complex, which will be operated by RMSC, a company that operates 39 recreational facilities across the country. Beth Heuerman will become the Director of Sales and Fitness for the new facility and an employee of RMSC, as will all other interested staff, personnel, trainers and coaches.
"This is a win-win for both organizations," explained RMSC President Tom Hillgrove. "This move will mean a much larger first-class facility able to support the increased memberships at the sports complex, while maintaining consistency for transitioning members. Larger state-of-the-art studio space for classes, more strength training and cardio equipment, specialized training areas, multiple sports courts and, of course, the eight-lane competition pool and aquatics center are among a few of the amenities members can expect from the new sports complex."
In anticipation of this acquisition, Get Fit has been a part of the building's design process.
"The Richard E. Workman Sports and Wellness Complex will be the best and most equipped facility in the region," Beth Heuerman stated, "providing professional fitness and health services for everyone in Effingham and surrounding communities."
