A fire on a passenger bus resulted in I-57 being blocked for a time Tuesday morning.
The fire started in the motor area of the passenger bus along the southbound lanes of the interstate near the Watson-Mason interchange about 11am. The fire spread into the cab of the vehicle.
There were just two people on the passenger bus, and neither was injured.
Both southbound lanes of I-57 were shut down for more than a half-hour.
Watson firefighters and Illinois State Police handled the incident, with assistance from Effingham and Edgewood Bi-County fire companies.
