The defense has requested a delay in the start of the trial of Thomas Messina in Clark County.

The 19-year-old Windsor man faces three murder counts related to the January death of a Casey man in his home.  Authorities found the body of Gregory Scott Collins while fighting a fire in his residence.

Messina is scheduled to go on trial June 10.  During pre-trial hearing Monday morning, the defense asked for a delay in the start of the trial.  The judge did not rule on the request at the time, but asked that any motions be put in writing before they'll be considered.

Messina is being held in Clark County Jail on $500,000 bond.
