Police in Cairo have charged a 29-year-old man with gun crimes, but James Watts is also the suspect in Thursday's bank robbery that left two bank workers dead and another critically wounded.

Officials say the robber forced his way into the First National Bank of Cairo after it closed, but when he could not get the bank's cash, shot the employees and stole three purses before fleeing in an employee's car.  Authorities say after a chase that reached speeds of 100MPH, police captured Watts at a railroad trestle near the Ohio River.

Illinois State Police have identified the two bank workers killed in the incident as Anita Grace of Olive Branch, Illinois and Nita Smith of Wickliffe, Kentucky, both 52 years old.
