Cumberland Board Discusses School/Union Partnership for Construction Class

Local tradesman Don Nelson spoke to the Cumberland School Board Thursday night about a possible partnership between the Carpenters Union and the district's Construction Skills class.  The item will be placed on the agenda for the Board's June meeting.

The Board agreed to approve a greenhouse project for the Agriculture Department, and Board President Jack Ingram called for a meeting of the Board's Building and Grounds Committee to discuss a marquee for the district.

Ingram also indicated he wanted to have the Board's Transportation Committee meet to discuss bus routes for next year.

Following a closed session, the Cumberland board employed Angie Willenborg as a music teacher.  Willenborg will fill a vacancy created by naming Stacy Keyser as a building principal for next school year.  The Board also hired Blake Ozier  as Band/Music teacher for next year, and approved other staff assignments.

Board members also voted to terminate the employment of Bill Sedgwick, effective immedately.
