Altamont Board, Teachers Release Details of Contract

The Altamont Education Association and Altamont Board of Education have reached agreement on a successor negotiated contract.  The contract is for three years; the 2014-15, 2015-16, and 2016-17 school years.

Here are the terms of the agreement:

--a soft freeze or step increase on the salary schedule for each of the three years

--an increase of $8.00/year on the Board's share of the insurance contribution

--adding paid assistant coaching positions for high school softball and high school soccer

--an additional extra-curricular longevity clause for new hires effective with the 2014-15 school year

--unused person leave days shall accumulate to five
