Beecher City Eagles boys varsity basketball coach Jason Eirhart was rehired for next season at Monday night's school board meeting, but the vote was close.

The vote to rehire was 4-3 in favor, with members Nancy Wolf, Glenna Gordon, Darren Doty and Jeff Kline voting in favor, and members Joe Wills, Becky Barnes and Darin Giles voting against.

The Board unanimously rehired JV coach Andrew Noble.  Other extracurricular sponsors and coaches were rehired for next year on a 6-0 vote with Wolf abstaining from the vote since her daughter is one of those rehired.

Board members voted to leave all fees unchanged for next school year; renewed an intergovernmental agreement with Cowden-Herrick School District for girls softball for next year; renewed an agreement with Britt Wendling for social worker services for next year; hired David Northway as a custodian at the junior-senior high school building; hired a firm to conduct an audit of the past year's books; heard from Carolyn Wendte on the senior class trip to Florida; and heard that the district would receive $591.37/month from the Shelby County sales tax increase for the 20 Beecher City district students who live in Shelby County.
