Two Injured in Monday Crash on Keller Drive

Two people were injured in a Monday afternoon crash on Keller Drive.
Effingham city police say the crash occurred at 5:41pm at the intersection with Midtowne Avenue, the roadway that leads into National Bank, Jimmy John's and other businesses. Police say a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Kelsie Mason of Effingham struck a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Kristie Augenstein of Strasburg.
Both drivers were injured; Augenstein refused treatment, but Mason was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.
Mason was cited for failure to yield.

City police are also investigating a theft of a vehicle and a burglary.
A vehicle owned by William Woolridge of Farina was stolen while parked at 1910 South Banker between 6pm and 7:20pm Tuesday. The vehicle is valued at $3,500.
Police are also investigating a burglary that occurred at Ludwig Lumber on Jefferson Avenue in downtown Effingham. The incident occurred between 5pm Friday and 7:19am Monday. A temporary fence sustained an undetermined amount of damage in the incident. The burglars took four boxes of deck screws, valued at just under $350.
