Three vehicles were involved in a crash on the interstate on the north side of Effingham.
The crash happened at 5:07pm Sunday on Northbound I-57/Eastbound I-70 at the US 45 interchange. State police say units driven by 31-year-old Jeremy Brunner of Chicago and 31-year-old Antoinette Archer of Indianapolis were stopped in the left lane for construction traffic. A vehicle driven by 32-year-old Jon Kronberg of Dayton, Ohio did not stop in time and rear-ended the Brunner vehicle, shoving the Brunner vehicle into the rear of the Archer vehicle.
Archer and her two passengers, 34-year-old Shalisa Maxey and 33-year-old Elaina Williams, both of Indianapolis, were all injured and were taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.
Kronberg was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
