A dismissed Lake Land College employee has been charged with theft.
56-year-old Tammy Boeser is accused of using a Lake Land credit card for personal purchases. Boeser was dismissed by the Lake Land College Board of Trustees Thursday. She was charged Friday with theft of at least $10,000 through purchases made with the credit card. The allegation is that Boeser made the purchases over a four-year period.
Lake Land and the office of Coles County State's Attorney Brian Bower issued a statement that the exact amount involved is yet to be determined. The release also indicates the college has made changes to its purchasing and credit card procedures.
Boeser is a former cheerleader coach at Lake Land and was working as an administrative assistant.
Boeser has posted bond. She's next due in court on May 12.
