The National Day of Prayer Breakfast held in Effingham Thursday morning was well-received.
A group of local businesspeople who are Christians decided to underwrite the cost of the breakfast, which took place at the Thelma Keller Convention Center. 200 tickets were made available, with a goal of attracting 180 to attend, but the meal count was 185, so organizers were very pleased.
Pastor Tony Munoz of Iglesia Bautista Latina de Effingham was the guest speaker and also sang with his church's praise band. A love offering was taken to help support Tony's work among Hispanics in our area, with $2,763 received.
