Two people were killed in a crash in Coles County Sunday afternoon.
16-year-old Landon Stuckey and 22-year-old Brianna Seaman were killed in the crash, which was reported at 2:20pm.
Coles County sheriff's deputies say a vehicle driven by Stuckey was southbound on County Road 800 East and failed to stop at a stop sign at County Road 1200 North. Stuckey's vehicle struck Seaman's westbound vehicle, causing Seaman's vehicle to overturn and strike a utility pole. Stuckey's vehicle caught fire after the crash.
Coles County Coroner Ed Schniers pronounced both drivers dead at the scene. Both Humboldt and Cooks Mills Fire Departments responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.
Schniers' office, along with Coles County Sheriff's Department and Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.
