A hearing on a defense motion in the case of Melly Hofer has been continued to May.

The 35-year-old Hofer is charged with reckless homicide and aggravated DUI related to a crash south of Effingham the morning of December 5, 2013.  The crash resulted in the death of 17-year-old Brittany Baker of Watson.

The motion concerns a request by defense attorney Ed Deters to quash a subpoena filed by State's Attorney Bryan Kibler for records.

The hearing has been rescheduled for 10:30am on May 14.

Hofer is slated to go on trial June 2.
