Jason and Lisa Meyer have purchased the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL, Blake-Wright Funeral Home in Dieterich, IL and the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup, IL from Ronald F. Blake.
Jason and Lisa have served as longtime employees and managers of the funeral homes, so this will be a seamless transaction for the families they serve.
"The names will change to Meyer Funeral Homes, LLC but the commitment to quality service will remain the same," said Jason Meyer.
Jason and Lisa Meyer are both licensed Funeral Directors and Embalmers. Jason, a native of Hardin County and Johnson County in Southern Illinois, has been with the funeral homes since 1994. Lisa (Fischer) is a native of Yale, IL in Jasper County and has been with the funeral homes since 2006. Together, the Meyers say they are "committed to serving in a professional, ethical and compassionate manner as they help families through the loss of their loved one."
The Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton has been serving families in the same location (The Laugel Home) since 1931; before that time the founders were undertakers on the square in Newton. The Blake-Wright Funeral Home was established in Dieterich in 1889 and moved to the current location in the early 1990's. The Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup was founded by Dale and Evelyn Bishop in 1930, and moved to the current location of 115 East Lincoln Drive in 1948. All current phone numbers will remain in place for each funeral home. Newton 618-783-2345, Dieterich 217-925-5555 and Greenup 217-923-3141. You can visit their website by clicking here.
