Republicans Elect County Officers

The county convention for Effingham County Republicans Wednesday night saw the same slate of officers as the past term re-elected.

The meeting is held every two years for Republican precinct committeemen to gather and elect officers.

Bob Behrman acted as chairman and presided over the meeting until a chairman was elected.  It was a weighted vote and only elected precinct committeemen were eligible to cast a vote.

Those elected:

Chairman Steve Donaldson from Libery Township

First Vice-Chairman Rob Arnold from Watson 2 Precinct

Second Vice-Chairman Ed Hoopingarner from Jackson Township

Treasurer John Niemerg from Lucas Township

Secretary Jane Willenborg form Summit 1 Precinct

The Effingham County Republican precinct committeemen also cast their votes for Bob Winchester as elected state central committeemen.  Winchester is involved in a contested race this year.
