$100 Million Allocated for Local Transportation Improvements Across Illinois

As the spring thaw begins, Governor Pat Quinn has announced $100 million from the Illinois Jobs Now! construction program to repair municipal and township infrastructure throughout the state.

Effingham County will receive $129,370.  The 15 townships in the county will receive a total of $160,524.  The 10 communities in Effingham County...Altamont, Beecher City, Dieterich, Edgewood, Effingham, Mason, Montrose, Shumway, Teutopolis and Watson...will share a total of $84,405.  

Clay County will receive $43,585, Clay County townships will receive $154,687, and the six communities in Clay County...Clay City, Flora, Iola, Louisville, Sailor Springs and Xenia...will share $34,890.

Cumberland County will receive $30,845.  Cumberland County townships will receive $134,509.  The four communities in Cumberland County...Greenup, Jewett, Neoga and Toledo...will share $20,776.

Fayette County will receive $63,837.  Fayette County townships will receive $245,290.  The seven communities in Fayette County...Bingham, Brownstown, Farina, Ramsey, St. Elmo, St. Peter and Vandalia...will share $48,867.

Jasper County will receive $31,350.  Jasper County townships will receive $170,823.  The seven communities in Jasper County...Hidalgo, Newton, Rose Hill, Ste. Marie, Wheeler, Willow Hill and Yale...will share $17,362.

Shelby County will receive $65,259.  Shelby County townships will receive $275,464.  The 11 communities in Shelby County...Cowden, Findlay, Herrick, Moweaqua, Oconee, Shelbyville, Sigel, Stewardson, Strasburg, Tower Hill and Windsor...will share $52,200.
