No Charges to be Filed in Stewardson Incident

The investigation is over into a Thursday evening incident in Stewardson in which two individuals were injured. Authorities say the pair tried to commit suicide.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Department said Monday morning that Stewardson police have decided not to pursue the incident further.

The incident occurred around 5:30pm Thursday at a residence on the east side of the village. Reports indicate that two people were taken from the scene by ambulance. The two were taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

The names of those involved were not released. Shelby County deputies described them as "young adults".
