Sarah Rueter was honored Friday as the 2014 Employee of the Year.

Rueter, who works at the Effingham Performance Center, was chosen from among eight nominees for the award and was honored as part of the Employee Appreciation Luncheon hosted by the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce.  Rueter's honor was announced by Effingham Mayor Merv Gillenwater, who declared it "Sarah Rueter Day" in the city.
